Industrial Development Authority of Barton County Announces Hiring of Rebekah Johnson as New Executive Director

BARTON COUNTY, MO. – The Industrial Development Authority (IDA) of Barton County is pleased to announce the hiring of Rebekah Johnson as its new Executive Director, effective September 8, 2027.
Johnson brings a strong combination of educational achievement, professional experience, and business leadership that will greatly benefit the organization as it continues its mission of supporting economic growth and development throughout Barton County.
To accept this position, Johnson will resign her current role as a member of the IDA Board of Directors. The Board extends its appreciation for her dedicated service and leadership as a board member and looks forward to working with her in this new capacity.
"Rebekah's education, background, and extensive business experience make her exceptionally qualified for this position," said Chuck Webb, Board Chair. "Her knowledge, leadership skills, and commitment to Barton County will be invaluable assets to the IDA and the communities we serve."
Throughout her career, Johnson has demonstrated a strong understanding of business development, organizational leadership, and community partnership. Her experience and vision will help strengthen the IDA's efforts to attract investment, support existing businesses, and create opportunities for economic growth across the region.

Johnson was in the class of 2001 at Lamar High and is a 2006 graduate of Missouri Southern State University. She has served on the Barton County Chamber of Commerce and recently as the President of the Board of Directors. The Industrial Development Authority of Barton County works to promote economic development, encourage business growth and investment, and support initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents throughout Barton County.
