Lamar Coin and Collector Show to be held on Truman Day 2026
Lamar, MO… The Lamar Coin and Collectors Show returns to the Thiebaud Auditorium, 105 E. 11th Street, on Saturday, May 2, to celebrate Truman Day and the Semiquincentennial of the U.S.A.
“It’s always my pleasure to host this hobby event in the beautiful Thiebaud Auditorium. Our event is bigger and better than ever with the addition of new services,” said Dave Sorrick of In God We Trust LLC from Mindenmines, MO. “Gloria Franklin with the ANACS certification service will be present to assist collectors with the submission of their coins for grading and authentication. This is the first opportunity coin collectors in Barton County have here at home and offers a huge cost savings, as well.”
“This event is another example of the unique opportunities in Barton County, MO that bring visitors into the area from throughout the Midwest. The annual celebration of the birth of Harry S Truman in Lamar is a tremendous tourism boost to our economy and our collectors will also enjoy the many activities occurring that day,” Sorrick added.
The hobby event will feature dealers and collectors of old coins, precious metals, and related items. Specific dealers specializing in paper money, hobby supplies, sports cards, stamps, and postcards will be in attendance to buy and sell with the collecting public. Admission is free and the show opens at 9am on Saturday, May 2 until 3pm that afternoon. The Pittsburg, KS Coin Club will conduct a 50/50 drawing and door prizes are offered on a limited basis at the opening of the show. All are welcome.
Sorrick is a long-time member of the Barton County Chamber of Commerce, a supporter of the on-going tourism initiative in Barton County, and a local business owner.
