Inaugural Spirit of Mindenmines honor to be announced at In God We Trust Day 2025

MINDENMINES, MO… A new award dedicated to those who make Mindenmines a great place to live, work, and visit will be presented on Wednesday, July 30 at Border Town Auction House. The new award will be announced at Noon at 611 Main, Mindenmines, MO during the annual celebration of In God We Trust Day hosted Dave Sorrick of In God We Trust LLC. July 30 marks the anniversary of the same date in 1956 on which President Eisenhower signed the legislation that named “In God We Trust” as the national motto and placing it on all U.S. currency.

“We pause today to reflect on our history of our national motto and to honor those who make Mindenmines, MO a special place to work, visit, and live. Our shared faith in our Lord, our shared respect for one another, and our shared pursuit of quality of life in our community unite us today in this celebration,” said Sorrick. “It’s an honor to host this reception and shine the light on the endeavors of those who work tirelessly to preserve our community here in Western Barton County Missouri,” Sorrick added.
The Open House and reception will begin at 10am with visitors invited to tour the improvements made to the former location of the Bank of Minden.

The public is invited to enjoy refreshments and ask questions about the Second Tuesday Coin and Currency auctions held on location since March 2018. At Noon the community will gather to honor the 2025 Spirit of Mindenmines award winners. The event will conclude at 2pm. Each visitor will receive a free Eisenhower dollar coin marking the former President’s support of the national motto.
